Day 13 - 7/19/13
I'm writing this a day late but I have not done the photo challenge for Day 14 so I can't give away where we are! So, what do you do when you have been on the road for 13 days? REST!! We built in a day to just run errands and not have real plans. First thing on our agenda: don't wake up to an alarm! We then decided that it was time to do laundry! 2 weeks of dirty clothes... not good for a car trip. With some chores being done we needed to get some lunch.
We met my brother's best friend in Lake Zurich at Giordano's for some Chicago style pizza. I've known this guy since I was 4 or 5! Crazy to think about. Have you seen the Disney movie Tangled? If not, stop reading, get on Netflix or go to Redbox and watch it. OK, if you have seen it you will know of Flynn Rider -- who is my favorite Disney "Prince". (If you know Zachary Levi <voice of Flynn> could you please tell him that I would like to meet him because I think he is amazing?) Moving on... my friend Adam is his human form! Just look at the side by side! I think I convinced him to visit my classroom as Flynn when he is in Texas for my brother's wedding.
After a fun lunch we took a quick picture and Celeste and I were off! We checked out my old neighborhood where I lived and then we looked at Lake Zurich. A stop at the post office was needed for our postcard challenge!
The rest of the afternoon is kinda boring. We finished laundry and packed for our 3rd week. We also watched TBS - Friends, King of Queens, and Seinfeld/ Took a NAP! Then it was dinner time! My Aunt Jenny took us out for burgers and onion rings to one of my favorite places - Hackney's! There are so many wonderful memories at this place. We even had a surprise party there for my mom's 35th birthday! My aunt snapped this picture for us. It had just finished raining and there was a lightning storm going on.
We had a great time in Illinois but it is now time to head to our next location! Thanks for reading!
